Forrest Yoga
- Forrest Yoga celebrates individuality and the power of the spirit. It is a dynamic and mindful yoga method that builds flexibility, intelligence and strength while
helping students deepen the relationship to his or her authentic self.
Forrest Yoga helps individuals heal from physical and emotional
injuries to create a more welcoming, spacious home for their
spirit.
- Forrest Yoga involves deep abdominal work to connect you to your core—to become
strong and centered. It uses heat, deep breathing, and long holds in
the pose progressions to sweat out toxins, and energize and oxygenate
your body at the cellular level. Emily’s Forrest classes are intended for both
new and advanced students. Bring a willingness to learn how to feel and
respond honestly to yoga—strength and flexibility are not required to
join this class.
- As a beginner to Forrest Yoga, you
will learn
to breathe deeply and connect with your body. As you progress, you will
become proficient at safely tailoring each pose to work best for you
physically and emotionally. The biggest emphasis for beginners is
expending the relation ship to the breath, and discovering ways to
move the breath breath to bring life into
every cell of your body.
- As
you advance in Forrest Yoga, you will learn to intelligently ride your
breath into the exhilarating advanced poses. You will learn to exercise
your emotional body through the full spectrum of feeling. Emily
encourages advanced practitioners to practice honestly at their edges
to develop effective tools to deepen their practice and work to through
physical/emotional blocks.
MaYoga
- Ma Yoga's prenatal Yoga is an empowering technique that reinforces teh inner resources and innate wisdom of the body and mind as preparation for birthing and mothering. The intense demands of birthing and mothering require a practice that is strengthening as well as restorative for the expecting mother's body and soul. A balanced spectrum of pranayama, childbirth preparation techniques, and special asanas are included in each class. By cultivating mindfulness and awareness in the moment and participating in a community of other mothers-to-be, a woman can begin to prepare for this exciting transformation in life.
Vinyasa Yoga- Vinyasa yoga is a style that combines a series of flowing postures with breathwork for an intense body-mind workout. Evolving from traditional hatha yoga, vinyasa focuses on integrating breath and movement in a sequenced, often repetitive series of asanas (or postures). Emily's vinyasa classes are based on intuition rather than tradition. She playfully integrates awareness though alignment and trusting yourself to integrate your intuition and inner curiosity into your flow. Expect to sweat and build strength in these challenging, yet fun classes.
